kick-off!

Wednesday night was the TNT (Team in Training) kick-off event. I got to meet the running coach Dan, my mentor Matt, the coordinator Aja and just some of the people I'll be running with for the next four months of Saturdays. So far, no one I've talked to has run a marathon before (but one woman has done half marathons).

This Saturday is the first team run. We're going to meet at South Sound Running for a shoe clinic (I run in Brook's Addiction and have liked them very much) and then a 2-3 mile run.

fly like the wind!

This is me! NOT! But it will be....I switched back to music after trying to listen to an electronic book (No.1 Ladies Detective Agency). I was enjoying it very much as a book but it wasn't doing a lot for my running.

I heard back from TNT, they received my registration. First training session is January 28th. We're having a shoe/injury clinic, running a 5K and having brunch with the Team.

I'm doing it!

Today I am sending in my registration for Team in Training (TNT) of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Training starts January 28th.

It's a commitment to raise $3800 (minimum) which is a LOT to me. I never even liked selling Camp Fire Girl cookies. But as a participant in this training program, I will be a sponsor for someone with the disease. So it's inspiring that I will focusing this for a specific person -- being able to put a face on this cause.

Maya (my 5 year-old Aussie) has already pledged 5 dog biscuits.
